Task 1 Revision

1. Show some pictures of our school and Sunshine Town. Help students remind something about Sunshine Town.

2. Group work

Work in groups , one is Millie, the other is Mr. Chen. Have an interview with Mr. Chen about Changes in Sunshine Town.

Task 2 Presentation

1. Mr. Chen’s life

(1) Ask the students to read part 1(line1—6)and answer some questions about it. e.g: Why does Mr. Chen know Sunshine town very well ?...Present some sentences about the changes, and ask the students to work out the rules of the simple past tense and the present perfect tense.

(3) Learn the language points—get married, since then… Then do some exercises.

2. The changes of Sunshine Town.

(1) Ask the students to read Part2(line7—11) in pairs, then complete a table about the town’s past and present.

(2) Learn the language point—turn … into …/turn into… Then do some exercises.

3. Water pollution

(1) Show a video and talk about the advantages and disadvantages of development.

(2) Ask the students to read in groups of four about this part and finish a flow chart about Sunshine Town

(3) Learn the language point—pollute, pollution and polluted ,take action to do…Then do some exercises.

(4) Have a group discussion: What action can we take to improve the situation?

4. Mr. Chen’s feelings

(1) Read in roles and talk about what Mr Chen thinks of the present life.

(2) Learn the language point—alone and lonely… Then do some exercises.
