Teaching aids: tape recorder, multimedia, pictures
Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Revision
1.Say: I feel tired because I walked to school this morning. How did you come to school？
2.Play a guessing game to revise names of transport.
Step 2. Lead-in.
Say: Transport has changed a lot. Has our hometown changed a lot?
Show some pictures and ask: What's different about our hometown?
Ss discuss in groups.
Step 3 Presentation
1.Ss say sth about the differences and at the same time to present some new words.
2. Our hometown has c hanged a lot. People have changed, too. For example, I have changed. In the past, I was alone, I feel lonely from time to time….
Teach some other words such as lonely, from time to time....
3.Tell Ss to read Reading and try to find out tne new words and try to guess their chinese meanings. Then ask them to read the words and give the chinese meanings.
Step 4 Practice
Do the exercise in Part B1. Ss work in pairs.
Step 5 Listening
Say: Millie wanted to know about the changes in Sunshine town, so she had an interview.
Who did Millie interview?
Ss listen to the tape and answer the following questions.
1.Who did Millie interview?
2.Did he get married?
3.Was pollution a problem?
Step 6 Reading
1.Ask Ss to read the part one of the text(line 1-6) after the tape. Answer two questions.
① How long has Mr Chen lived in Sunshine Town?
② Where did he move house?
