The meanings and uses of public signs;

2.Difficult points

Improve the students’ listening and speaking skills.

III.Teaching steps :

Step1 Warming up

Greet the students and play a short video to lead to the new lesson.

Step 2 Presentation

Talk about the meanings of some more signs .

Step 3 Listen & practice

1.Get the Ss to talk about where we can see public signs;

2.Then choose 4 of signs for the students to discuss where they may appear to prepare for the listening.

3.Then listen and check the answers.

Step 4 Listening

Get the students to think about a question:What are they like?

Listen and check the answer.

Step5 Listening

Ask the students 2 questions:What are they used for?and “How many uses do they have?

Listen and check the answers.

Step 6 Practice

Provide some signs for the students to make dialogues.

Step 7 Writing

Get the students to finish a report with the information they’ve got.

Step 8 Show time

Present a dialogue between my friend and me in a museum;

Get the students to choose 2 signs for the places and then make conversations with them in pairs.Several minutes later,I’ll ask some pairs to act out their conversations.

Step 9 Conclusion &Requirment

Make a conclusion;
