3. Communicative ApproachTeaching procedures I. Lead-in

Step 1. Tell the Ss a piece of good news to create a situation

Create a situation by using the information that Yancheng is going to build a civilized city as well as an advanced clean city and by supposing President Xi is in Yancheng to cheak it.

Step 2. Play a game: good manners or bad manners?

Show some pictures of good manners and bad manners to let the Ss tell if it is good manners or bad manners. Then use the sentence“It’s good/bad manners to...”to describe the pictures.

Step 3. How to improve the situation?

Let the Ss say some ways to improve the situation with the help of some pictures.
