Step 2: Preview

Finish reading comprehension of 2017 Yangzhou Senior high school entrance examination(扬州市2017年中考) before class. “How did you work out the answer to each question?” “Did you use any reading skills?”

Step 3: Match the correct reading skills with their definitions.

Step 4: While-task

List exercises 37, 38,43. Name them “Topic and main idea”, ask Ss about the suitable reading skill.

List exercise 36. Name it “Searching for details”, ask Ss about the suitable reading skill. List some similar questions, and tell the other “searching for details” exercises on the paper.

List exercise 33. Name it “Inferring and judging”. Ask Ss about the suitable reading skill. List some similar questions, also tell the other “Inferring and judging” exercises on the paper.

List exercise 42, Name it “Guessing the meaning” Practise some other guessing exercises.

Step 5:Conclusion: Fill in all the types of exercises of 2017 Yangzhou Senior high school entrance examination and different reading skills used on the learning paper.
