Step1. Lead-in

Play the song waving flag and ask students “Are you familiar with this song?” Tell the students that the song is one of the theme songs for the World Cup in 2010 in South Africa.

Good morning class, at the beginning of this class we have heard the theme song of the Beijing Olympic Games. Last period we have learned some sports things. Do you remember them? Now let’s look at the screen.

Step2. Check and revision

Show some pictures of sports things (soccer ball, basketball, volleyball, baseball, baseball bat, ping-pong ball, ping-pong bat, tennis ball) on the screen and ask students “What’s that?” Students answer the question with “It’s a…”

Now please look at the screen. What’s that? Good!

Show 6 pictures of sports. Ask students to make up their own conversations according to the example to review the sentences “Do you have…?” and “Let’s play…”
