A lively city is the edition of WY and the second period of the Module 4—reading part in “A Social Survey--my neighborhood”. This article is a conversational article and a form of dialogue shows the geographical location, climate and conditions of Xiamen city, such as tourist attractions and buildings.

That part of the content close to student's life and the subject of the discussion is the lively city so that this can further promote students’ understanding of certain cities, but also by talking about a palce to enhance students' ability to express.

Learning situation analysis

Before this, students are learning more than a month, has been basically adapt to the pace of high school English learning, but also do not have skimming, accuracy, and skip reading skills, and most of the students' weak foundation in English, reading ability is poor, translation and understanding ability also needs to improve.

However, students are serious in their attitude, have high enthusiasm and active thinking, and can carry out topic discussion and role play better. Therefore, multimedia teaching is adopted in this class to stimulate students' interest in learning.
