一、教学内容分析

本模块的主题是A Social Survey---My Neighborhood,本节课选取了阅读和词汇板块的文章 A Lively City. 阅读文章用对话的形式，介绍了厦门市的地理位置，气候，城市概况， 如旅游景点、建筑、住宅、商业区等等。使学生了解厦门市的概况，并掌握介绍某个城市的方法。

二、教学目标（知识，技能，情感态度、价值观）

To get students to master the key words and expressions: attractive, architecture, district, harbor, …; on the coast, by the seaside, a nuisance, ….

To guide students to get the basic information about Xiamen, including its location, climate, people, buildings, tourist spots, and food by skimming and scaning.

To lead students to summarize how to describe a place by giving the topic sentence and supporting details.

To lead students to rediscover and show deeper love to their hometown or a city they are familiar with.

三、教学重难点

Teaching key points:

The new words and expressions in the passage.

The basic information about Xiamen including its location, climate, people, buildings, tourist spots, and food.

Teaching difficult points:

How to summarize the main idea of the passage and describe a place by using what are learned.

四、学情分析

本班共49人，男生多女生少。虽然学生也热爱英语学习，想展示自己，但大部分学生因为害羞心理并不愿意主动举手，因此需要老师的语言鼓励和引导。

此外，学生们进入高中学习才一月有余，在学习习惯、学习方法、思维方式、阅读策略等都正处于从初中向高中的过渡阶段。尤其本节课是阅读课，学生不光需要了解关于文章的细节信息，也需要在老师的引导下对文章的结构有一个整体的把握，并且将本堂课所学应用到描述一个地方当中去。
