Before-reading: Make a predictation using brainstorm.If you were Xiaoli, what would you like to introduce to John Martin.

While-reading:1).Reading through the whole passage as quickly as they can to check if their predictations are right.Then the teacher

checks the answers and adds some contents they mention.

2).Careful-- reading:Reading the passage and meanwhile find out the information about Xiaoli’s hometown.

3. Post--reeading: Ask students to help describe Xiaoli’s hometown to tourists, using some blanks-filling.

4.Disscussion:If you were a guide,some visitors are visiting your hometown,Linkou, what would you like to introduce the visitors?

5.Writing:1).Teach students some useful phrases and sentence patterns.

2).Ask one student to read the composition written in Chinese.Given students a few minutes to write the composition, using just learned phrases.

3).Ask sdudents to come to the blackboard to write their translation and Check the answers.

4.Give students a few minutes to write a description of their hometown and then share their compositions with other students.
