Book2 Module5 Newspapers and Magazines

1.教学设计整体构设:通过图片展示来学习新单词,引入相应对报纸和杂志的相关知识的普及,在阅读前先对背景知识做一定介绍,让学生根据背景知识进行阅读理解活动,引导学生正确使用阅读策略来进行阅读,在阅读过程中采用 “速读”与 “精读”的阅读模式,依照读前、读中、读后的教学方式循序渐进,采用选择题,填空题,判断正确错误各种形式的练习活动来考察学生对本篇文章的理解;最后给出 “你想为国家做出怎样的贡献”问题,拓展学生思维,深化本单元情感目标。

2.Background analysis:

(1)Analysis of teaching material:The material comes from Students' Book2 of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. The topic of this module is Newspapers and Magazines. It gives students a chance to get some information about Newspapers & Magazines. This lesson is learning a reading passage, which plays a very important part in the English teaching of this module. By studying this reading passage, students can improve their reading ability and learn more about Newspapers&Magazines. At the same time, the teacher should get the students to understand some difficult sentences to comprehend the passage better. In the end, the teacher should also enhance students' consciousness of contributing to our country. And students can express their opinions correctly about how to achieve their purposes, which strengthens students' sense of patriotism.

(2)Analysis of students:The learners are senior one students. They have the basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, but most of them are still weak in basic grammar and words. Because the students haven’t learned English well, and some of them don’ t have much interest in English. They can understand some words and simple sentences. At the same time, they are curious, active and fond of competition and discussion, therefore, I will encourage them to express bravely in class.

Teaching aim:

1. Knowledge objectives:

(1)Key words: universe, astronaut, taikonaut, cosmonaut, achievement, historical, congratulation, celebrity ;

(2)Key phrases: in total, now that, believe in, thousands and thousands (3)Sentence patterns:

In total, these astronauts have spent more than 26,000 days in space.

Lu, whose parents were born in China, spoke to Yang in Chinese during his flight.

2.Ability objectives:

(1)Students will be able to understand the main idea of this passage, can use their own words to express it.

(2)Students will be able to use some reading skills, especially skimming scanning in their reading activity.

(3)Students are able to grasp some information about Newspaper & Magazines.

3.Emotional objectives:

(1)To help Students to express their opinions about Yang’s space travel.

(2)Students will strengthen their consciousness of loving their mother land.

(3)Students will learn the spirit of contribution.

Students can understand the whole passage clearly.

Students can use some reading skills in their reading activity.
