Step1 Warming up
T:How do you communicate with others?
Ss:speaking,typing,sending messages ……
Then, lead in spoken language, written language and body language and make students know the meaning of some gestures,facial expressions,postures.And then ask students what is body language?(Let them fill in the blanks.)
Step2 Reading
Task1 Fast reading
What is the main idea of the text?(Get students to have a quick look of the text and answer the question.)
Task2 careful reading
1.Find out the two cultural mistakes in para2.(Fill in the blanks :the first mistake and the second mistake.)
2.Read the para 3 and para 4 to get to know the ways of different cultures and make students to fill in the chart.
Step3 Discussion
Have the students to read the last para and discuss what we have learned in this class.(Give time students to discuss with their group members and pick some students present their answers for the whole class.)
Step4 Conclusion
Since the whole class have discussed what they learned and done the presentations,we do this conclusion together and make students memorize the old saying:”When in Rome, do as the Romans do”.
Step5 Homework.
Surf the internet or go to the library to search for more information about body language and present it to the class.
