4. To help Ss review what we have learnt in this module;

Teaching procedures:

Step 1. Revision

Check the workbook grammar exercises on pages 97~98.

Step 2. Cultural Corner

Purpose: To arouse Ss’ interest in learning the differences of the dragon in different countries.

Group work

Show two pictures of Chinese dragon and western dragon. Ask Ss to discuss the differences and tell something about them.

What's this animal? Do you know any stories about it?

A dragon is a large legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures around the world. Beliefs about dragons vary drastically by region.

Dragons in eastern cultures are usually depicted as wingless, four-legged creatures with above-average intelligence. But dragons in western cultures have often been depicted as winged, horned, four-legged, and capable of breathing fire.

2. Individual work

Ask Ss to read the passage and fill in the blanks by using the key words from the passage.

In Chinese culture,Dragons are ________ and ____, although they can be _____________.

The dragon was closely connected to the ___________.

If you were born in the year of dragon, you are _________, ______ and a ________ ________.

In western culture

Dragons have a different _________. In the story, the dragon is _________.

Step 3. Module File

Purpose: To enable Ss to make a conclusion of this module and deepen what they have learned in the module.

Ask Ss to look at Module File on P60 and try to recall what they have learnt in the module. Then tick the things they are sure that they know and put a question mark next to the points they are not sure of and a cross to what they don’t know.

Help Ss to share their ideas and deal with the difficult or confusing points.
