Ken: … will definitely study medicine.
… hope … will be working in a hospital or as a doctor.
… would like to become a surgeon.
Emma: Hopefully … will be living somewhere differently.
… would like to be a teacher.
… will probably be teaching English.
Present a question to students:
What will your life look like in 10 years?
And then let students write a prediction about themselves. (Steps: First make an outline and write down some key words; Second exchange the ideas with deskmates for suggestions or discuss with the teacher. )
Example: My name is Mary. I am really not sure about my life in 10 years. I think I will go to university and learn how to teach English, and I will probably be an English teacher in 10 years. I guess I will marry a handsome man, and we can learn from each other and help each other, besides I would like to have a happy family. I also want to travel around the world, maybe I will travel with my family. As far as I’m concerned, we will realize the dream sooner or later.
Use projector to present 2-4 articles of students, let students check these articles together.
The teacher or students make a summary about this lesson. And then give students a proverb: Where there is a will, there is a way.
