【导学】------ How Good Are Your Social Skills?

Background knowledge：

Small talk can be a little challenge, but a little preparation and confidence is all you need. As a skilled talker you will be regarded as more open and friendly person, compared to someone who does not say much during social situations. Now let’s step into Reading and Vocabulary together to learn the art of small talk.

Step 1. Lead-in

Playing a Video about small talk, then ask students what it is talking about.

Step 2. Skimming: Q1: What kind of book it is from. Choose from the list

Q2： Try to find the main idea of each part

Part 1 (para 1-2) How to do small talk

Part 2 (para 3) Dos and Don’ts while listening

Part 3 (para 4-7) Introduction to the body of the

passage by asking questions

Part 4 (para 8) The social rules

Step3.:

Scanning: Q1: Read part 1 carefully and complete its main idea.

Learn how to do small talk
