ⅣAnalysis of the teaching subject

The passage Frankenstein’s Monster is a novel written by Mary Shelley, who is Percy Bysshe Shelley’s wife, so I will use S helley’s famous saying “If winter comes , can spring be far away?” as my appointment ,As for the title itself indicates it is a novel, so I will first ask students the type of the passage, and then using skimming and scanning skill to analyse the passage,careful reading for the detailed information,then analyse the beginning ,the development ,the climax and the ending of the story;

Using Frankenstein and the monster’s relationship as the whole clue.At last ask students to give their own opinions on how to make the tragedy into comedy,and present it to the whole class as a group work.

ⅤAnalysis of the students

The students I am teaching is from grade 2, class 6, they are of the average level,and they belong to the art subject,so there are more girls than boys,they are all eager to learn English well, but as their level is not so high, so they need special attention when making phrases , not to say sentences. According to their characteristics, I want to make the tasks easier and easier for them.at the beginning I would like to do words revision, then film review,and then analyse the passage according to the clue, at last I would ask them to do group discussion and present their group work to all the classmates.make a conclusion about the whole passage.

Ⅵ.Teaching procedures

Greetings:good afternoon everyone,before we start our lesson, I’d like to present today’s appointment,If winter comes,can spring be far away?by Percy Shelly, Now I’d like to show you how to use the appointment, when you are given a task, there is a time limit, when time is up, I’ll say the first part,and then you continue to say the second part, clear?

1.Lead-- in

Now let’s start our lesson, First I’d like to show you the picture of Mary Shelley.she wrote a novel in 1818,and then the novel was made into a film in1931.

Today we are going to analyse the novel, As we have seen the film, I’d like you to present your film review,but you must bear in mind the four rules, who’d like to read it and explain it for us, volunteer? Student A please,read and explain,it’s your time,students will give us their film review, I’ll make a conclusion. That’s don’t judge a person by his appearance, we should show our love and respect to whoever it is, Judging from your performance,I can see that you have done a good preparation ,applause for your hard work,

Let’s analyse the passage ;

?.open your books ,turn to page 58, look at the title , predict what type of passage is it? A novel,

as we all know , a novel concludes 6 factors, say 5W and 1H,what are they?they are who ,what ,when ,where, why, and how.
