2 What does a Yeti look like?

It looks like a human but it has thick black fur and is about six feet tall with huge shoulders, very long arms and large hands.

3 What do scientists think of Yetis?

They convince that Yetis exist while studying the footprints.

Activity = 2 ﹨ ROMAN II . Divide the passage and find main idea of each part.(Group Work)

Para 1: Yetis are reported to have been seen all over the world.

Para 2-4: Descriptions of Yetis in different places.

Para 5-6: Scientists’ different opinions abort Yetis.

Para 7: Scientists hope to find the truth.

Activity = 3 ﹨ ROMAN III . Language points

1. Yetis are said to be heavily built and hairy. People believe that it sometimes comes down from the mountains to attack villagers.

据说野人体格粗壮,多毛。人们相信,野人有时候会从山上下来袭击村民。

It is said that sb/sth… People say that sb/sth… sb/sth is said to do+……

三种结构可互换,意为“据说……”,“人们说……”

类似常见的结构如下:

It is believed that…… 人们相信……

It is known that…… 众所周知……

It is reported that…… 据报道……

It is supposed that …… 大家推测……

It is thought that…… 大家认为……

It is considered that…… 据认为……
