Watch a video and get some general impression about ads..
Step Two Brainstorm
Look at some ads and guess what kind of product or service is being advertised
Step Three Warming up
Think as many places as possible to find advertisements in daily life and discuss them together.
Step Four Let’s Enjoy
1. Watch two different kinds of video, one is commercial ad and the other is PSA. Try to describe the videos and express your views on them.
2. Enjoy more ads on posters and try to recognize the slogans and logos as well as the importance of them. Then show some posters for students to think about good slogans.
Step Six Appreciating English ads
1. Try to appreciate some English ads and their Chinese translation.
2. Give it a thought on last two ads with respective questions.
The sofa one:
What does the ad try to sell? Would you like to buy it? Why?
The PSA:
What is the ad trying to do? What are you going to do after watching it?
Step Seven Exercises
Make a quick judgment on the type of ad.
Step Eight Quest
Do you believe that advertisements tell the complete truth? Why or why not?

1. Read the passage in Part B on Page 95 in Workbook.
