Teaching procedures:

Step 1 lead-in

Show the students an interesting advertising video of Intel to introduce ‘advertising’ and arouse interest.

【设计说明】在我们的日常生活中,广告随处可见。教师在此处选择了较有代表性的,贴近中学生生活的,学生喜闻乐见的广告作品。以此激发学生对广告的强烈兴趣,调动学生进一步了解和学习广告知识的积极性,为完成后续的教学任务作好铺垫。

Step 2 Brainstorming

Ask the students ‘where can we find these ads?’ and listen for their answers.

Show the students several advertisements placed in different typical places in our daily life.

Ask the students ‘What is an advertisement?’ and leave the question to be solved through the next discussion.

【设计说明】让学生回答该两个问题,一方面可作为进一步的的热身活动, 检测学生对广 告呈现方式的了解,让学生在寻找问题答案的过程中获得成功的喜悦;同时也能激发他们的求知欲,自然过渡到下一步的观察讨论。

Step 3 Observation

Ask the students to focus on the four advertisements on Page1. Encourage the students to discuss ‘which ad is your favorite?’.

Ask the students to find the similarities among the four advertisements and try to divide them into two groups.

Help the students to give the definition of an advertisement based on the similarities and groups.

【设计说明】通过鼓励学生小组讨论广告画的内容,提高学生的观察能力,获取基本的广告知识,即广告可分为商业广告和公益广告两大类,并激励学生进一步区分这两类广告的功能与目的,增进他们对广告的认识与理解。

Step 4 Discussion

Ask the students to talk about the slogans in the four advertisements and encourage them to use words to describe the slogans.

【设计说明】组织学生分组讨论可扩大操练面,在小组内所有学生可各抒己见,学生陈述自己观点的过程即练习口语的过程。然后各小组 代表再集中本组的意见在 全班展示,在这一过程中,不仅陈述者得到了很好的锻炼机会,全班同学也可获取更多有关广告标语的信息。

Step 5 Design

Provide the students with another three interesting advertisements and encourage them to design an appropriate slogan for each one.

Ask the students to design advertisements for another two pictures shown on the screen.

【设计说明】这一环节是整堂课的输出环节,鼓励学生学以致用,将在本次课堂中前几个步骤里学到的广告知识运用起来,同时也能充分发挥学生的主观能动性,激发学生想象力,锻炼方法与技能。其次,该学习任务包含公益广告的设计,有助于培养学生的正确观念和高尚情操。
