Purpose of design

Step One: Lead-in

Greetings and playing a game to warm the class up.

Each of the students is required to make a name card with their name and an emoticon on it. Then introduce themselves and act out the emoticon.

Step Two: Read to understand

1. Predict before reading

Look at the picture and try to predict:

What happened to the young lady?
