Lead in and

new vocabularies

Teacher will interact with students. Then present them with an Email from one of her former students, who talks about her own opinions on being a millionaire.To arouse students’ interest and bring up the topic.

To introduce the new vocabularies and smooth away difficulties during reading. Step 2:

Jigsaw Reading

Students will be divided into groups of 5 and each of the five will be given a different piece of reading material. Then, the whole group work together to figure out the correct order of the whole passage.

To help students practice the reading skill, which is also useful in their writing. Step 3:

Reading and

Thinking

Students will read the whole passage again and prepare to ask the others questions about Charles Gray and to answer whatever questions others will ask.

Then students will be divided into 2 big groups and have a competition.

To help students focus more on the detail of the reading material, and develop the spirit of active learning.Step 4:

Reading extension Students will read a passage about Bai Fangli and discuss with partners on what we can learn from him and Charles Gray. Then they will be encouraged to write down opinions on the piece of paper in shape of a heart. To dig deeper into the students’ soul and have them realize what the most important thing in this material world is the spirit of giving and sharing. Step 5:

Summary 1、students will summarize first about their feelings.

2、 then the teacher will sum up as a closure.To help student better understand the morale of the text and to emphasize the importance of giving.Evaluation

and AssignmentEvaluate their own work during the class by themselves and peers though finishing their evaluation chart.

Write down a passage on the discussion, in 120 words.Design on the blackboard SHAPE ﹨ MERGEFORMAT
