Teaching Important Point:

Help the Ss use subjunctive clause to express wishes that can not be realized in different conditions.

Teaching Difficult Points:

1. Guide Ss to express wishes happening at present using subjunctive mood with IF.

2. Guide Ss to express wishes happening in the past using subjunctive mood with IF.

3. Guide Ss to express wishes happening in the future using subjunctive mood with IF.

Teaching Procedures:

Step1. Lead in

1.Enjoy music and pay attention to subjunctive mood in if -clauses in the lyrics

2.Use a sentence:If time could stop at the moment when we first met. to introduce subjunctive mood in if -clauses . It expresses the speaker’s the best wishes、dreams or assumptions. It is clear that they are unreal ,imaginary or unlikely to become true.

Step 2. Presentation

Task1. T: show 3 pictures and 3 sentences. Ss: Enjoy the pictures and observe the sentences,and then summarize the first structure of the Subjunctive mood.

Observe and conclude 1:

1.If I were a superman , I could protect people who are in danger.

2.If I had time now, I would go to see the film with you.

3.If I were Bill Gates, I should donate a lot of money to Linhuai Middle School.
