Step 1 Lead-in
Teacher introduces a girl who loves animals and in her dream she always sees some endangered animals in order to lead in the topic.
To arouse students interest in this topic and brainstorm the endangered species they have known.
Step 2 Reading
①Present a reading passage about the extinction of dinosaurs.
②Task 1: Match the main idea of each paragraph.
③Task 2: Answer Questions
1.When did dinosaurs live and die out?
2.What are reasons for dinosaurs’ extinction mentioned in the text?
3.According to a UN report, how about many other wild species? Which one is mentioned?
By reading tasks, students can practice how to grasp main idea and figure out specific information to cultivate their reading skills.
