StepI. Lead-in

Good morning , boys and girls. This morning, I received a letter from a boy named Xiao Dong. He has come across a problem. This problem makes him very upset and he asks me for help. But I think maybe you can help him, because you are all senior high school students; you must have a lot in common with Xiao Dong. So, would you like to have a try? Ok, first, let’s read Xiao Dong’s letter to see what the problem is.

StepII. Read the letter and find out the problem

What’ Xiao Dong’s problem? ( He doesn’t know how to make friends.)

Well, are you good at making friends . Ok, it is a good opportunity to learn from each other about how to make friends. Let’s have a group discussion.

StepIII. Group work for discussion

Four students in a group and try to come up with at least 3 ideas and give your reasons. An example will be given.

Ideas Why1.to ask people their likes and dislikes1.to find classmates with the same interests2.to join in discussion and show interest in other people’s ideas2. to get to know different people and let them see you are friendly3......3...........

Now discuss with your partners, and one of you is responsible for taking notes. Later, that student has to stand up to give a presentation.
