本单元语言结构项目是“名词从句作宾语和表语”。

本单元还要求学生学习模仿表演剧本。

教学设计在单元课时划分上与课本保持一致,即“,热身预读课,阅读课、知识课、运用课四课时”。在实际教学过程中,依据学生基础、教学条件、学生课堂反映等因素,对课本、对教学设计重新划分课时,裁剪、拼接使用提供的材料,以便“物尽所用”,达到最佳教学效果。Period 1

Warming Up and Pre-readingWarming Up , 首先介绍本单元体裁---戏剧,激发学生学习本单元内容的兴趣。接着进行作者介绍,通过完成笑话来吸引学生了解作者,同时结合高考语法填空题加强学生应试能力。借助多媒体及网络搜索更多相关作者资料,既开拓了学生的视野又丰富了学生的词汇知识。学生对作者有了很好的了解后做课本中的“阅读和填表”水到渠成。

Pre-reading 通过giving background information about Twain Mark进行预读操作。借助多媒体展示许多图片让学生进行''Brainstorm'',结合Topic-Make a bet 提高学生说英语的能力。

学生在语言组织上可能百花齐放,结合本单元语法宾语从句和表语从句为学生提供useful structures。

  作业布置包括预读和熟读本单元词汇,为下节课做好铺垫。对学习比较好的学生布置兴趣写作Making a bet.要求学生预读Reading, 自己听课文录音对比舞台读音与自己朗读的差异,体会native-speaking English.

Period 1Warming Up and Pre-reading

Introduction

In this period, in the warming up, students will first be given some information about a new form-play to arouse their interest. Filling in blanks can help students taste the humour of Mark twain as well as master some vocabulary knowledge.Giving background information about Twain Mark. T helps students read the short passage and then fill in the chart.

Objectives

To help students understand the text’s forms and contents and learn about Mark Twain’s plays

To help students communicate on the topic in focus with the words, expressions and structures learned in this unit

Focus

1. Warming up by learning vocabulary

Today we are going to a theatre. Before we go, we shall get ready with the words and expressions used in the play we are going to watch. Turn to page 96 and go over the vocabulary list.
