四Teaching procedures

Step1 Warming up& Pre-listening(speaking)

1.Students describe content of some pictures after watching them from the PPT.

2.Watch a video,and answer two questions?

Q1:What is your feeling after seeing the video?using some adjectives to express?(shocked,worried,sad,terrified,hopeless,hopeful,unbelievable…)

Q2:Supposed your home was suddenly destroyed without warning,imagine what will you do?how is your mood?

3.Prediction(预测对话是讲什么?)

This listening materials is about: a report interview a survivor of the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906.

Q:What will be talked about in the following dialogue?(group discussion)

4.Learn some key words in the listening materials.

describe 描述 bury 埋

experience经历 frighten使惊吓

terrified 非常害怕的 rush冲进

throw投,丢出去 soldier士兵

Step2:While-listening (自主学习+合作学习)

Before listening,teacher show some listening skills to students:

1.Analyzing the questions; 2. Master the key words in the listening.

1.Listen to the tape and answer the questions(pair work)

Q1:what is the main idea of the dialogue?

Q2:when did the earthquake begin?
