Leading in(page 17)&Finish the exercise in Pre-reading

Get students to familiarize some words appearing in some pictures. Meanwhile, order them according to the time

Abacus, calculator, huge computer, PC, laptop, PDA, robot

Conclude the leading-in with the sentence that all the words are about the computers and the computer can be used to calculate

Discussion: Do you know other﹨more functions about the computers?

For example: We can use computers to listen to music…﹨ The computer can be used to…

Check students’ work and go over the listed functions together with the pictures on the PPT

Search for information, watch movies, read books and magazines, buy things online, play games…

Question: What other functions about computer?

Scan the passage-Who Am I to find out the answer. Check the answers.

Scan the passage again to find out the topic sentence of each paragraph. Check the answers.

Get students to pay attention the position of the topic sentence.- the first sentence, the last sentence , and middle sentence. Emphasize the position of the topic sentence again.

Para1. Over time I have been changed quite a lot.

Para2. These changes only became possible as my memory improved.

Para3. Since the 1970s many new applications have been found for me.
