第一课时 Warming-up; Pre-reading; and Reading. This unit talks about festivals of many kinds in different part of the world. Through this unit we should have the students think about the reason for festivals and the reason for different ways of celebration.

设计思路

1.指导思想(teaching guidance)

在英语教学中贯彻新课程标准,课程改革决定,英语学科要整合发展学生语言技能,语言知识,情感态度,学习策略和文化意识的素养,培养学生综合运用语言的能力探究学习、合作学习、任务型学习是在新课程标准下实施素质教育的关键环节,因此在课堂设计中要遵循以上几原则。

1.1 Analysis of the Teaching Contents(教材分析)

Human beings need to have things in life to celebrate and have a break from daily struggles. Festivals exist everywhere in the world and many of them celebrate similar ideas and important cultural events.

Warming up – to have students start thinking about the variety of events and festivals that are celebrated in china, and to contact them with seasons of the year and reasons for the celebrations.

Per-reading – to help students enter imaginatively into a discussion of festival and their importance to the society.

Reading-briefly introduces the earliest kinds of festivals with reason for them, then four different kinds of festivals that occur in most parts of the world.

1.2Analysis of students’ learning ability (学情分析)

The Ss are very familiar with many festivals in and out of our country, but they don’t know how to express them in English. Therefore, in this section, teacher should help Ss grasp this new knowledge and further think the significance of the festivals.

a. Let them learn about history and basic knowledge of festivals both in and out of china.

b. Enable Ss to talk about festivals and celebrations.

3.1, Let Ss learn about how festival began and how to celebrate festivals so as to enable students to learn the history and basic knowledge of festivals.

3.2 Enable Ss to talk about festivals and celebrations. And think their significance.
