教学难点:能描述各种动物及表达对动物的喜好及原因。

四、教学环节与过程

Step1: leading-in

1. Ask Ss if they like the film Zootopia and what animals they like best in the film.

2. Encourage Ss to take the challenge to win the tickets to the Zootopia.

(设计目的:学生几天前看过这部电影,特别喜欢这部电影,用这部电影引出本课的话题,并用闯关后能去Zootopia 参观的游戏形式,吸引学生参与接下来的课堂活动)

Step2: Brainstorm --word competition

Ask Ss to speak out the animals that they know one by one.

(设计目的:复习学生对动物词汇的掌握,也为接下来要描述动物和表达对动物的喜好等活动打下铺垫。)

Step 3: Speaking 1----describing animals

Lead students to describe some animals.

2. Listen to the story “ Dear zoo” and finish some exercises.

(设计目的:让学生知道从哪些方面描述动物及掌握描述性形容词的正确使用;通过听故事Dear zoo, 训练学生捕捉描述性形容词及训练学生听力能力,这个故事很有趣,可以增加课堂的趣味性。)

Step4: Presentation

Ask Ss to read Grammar Focus and summarize the grammar rules.

(设计目的:让学生通过观察,自己学会归纳本课的语法重点-----why, 和 where 引导的特殊疑问句进行问答及可修饰形容词的三个程度副词( kind of、 very、really))

Step4: Speaking 2--- talking about your preferences of the animals.

Group-work: practice the sentence patterns in grammar focus.

Finish exercises in 3a and 3b and ask Ss to read out their answers.

Play a game” I don’t agree”, and encourage students to express their opinions.

(设计目的:通过四人小组练习对话, 完成3a和 3b的 练习及I don’t agree 游戏, 巩固学生对本课重点句型的掌握, 其中I don’t agree 这样的语言操练活动能鼓励学生勇于表达自己的观点,让他们更有成就感。)

Step5 Listening and speaking

Watch a clip and answer the questions.

Lead Ss to talk about the animals that they like a lot, they like a little and they don’t like at all.

(设计目的:在学生谈论自己对动物喜好前先给学生看一个示范视频, 为接下来更顺利的进行口语训练做好铺垫; 在口语训练中鼓励学生大胆开口,尽量多用今天所学的词汇和句型)

Step6: Summary

Lead Ss to summarize what they have learnt in this period.

(设计目的:回顾总结本课所学内容,检测学生对本课内容的掌握程度)

Step 7: Homework

1. Write a composition to introduce the animal you like best, the animal you like a little and the animal you don't like.
