学情分析：学生对于李尔王这个作品有一定的了解，能够说出大概的故事，但对于具体的细节并不是非常了解。且在平时的完形填空中表现出概括能力不足，信息汇总较为凌乱等问题。但学生有兴趣阅读故事性和戏剧性较强的作品，因此在教学过程中应调动学生积极思考积极参与，引导他们探索发现内容概括的方法，更好的完成阅读任务。
教学过程：Teaching Procedures
Step I. Warming up
Make a choice between “ flattery “ and “ truth “.
Brainstorm: Why do you want to hear flattery or truth ?
What do you think flattery or truth can bring to your judgments ?
通过头脑风暴的形式引导学生发散思维，畅所欲言，锻炼语言能力。
Step II. Movie appreciation
Students will watch a clip, coming from the movie “ King Lear “, related to the reading passage.
观看电影片段是为了让学生更直观的关注演员的神态，肢体语言及说话语气，从而更好的理解人物，为后面的人物性格分析做准备。
Step III. Reading
Task presentation
What happened in the story ? （阅读及概括）
How can we describe the characters ? （讨论及表达）
What if there’s another ending ? （联想及改写）
任务的设计基于学科素养中提到的学习能力和语言能力，思维品质及文化意识，语言能力和思维品质。
Read to tell the main characters and the relationships among them.
Read to summarize, changing the dialogue into the characters’ monologues.
Read to analyze the characters, while presenting, adjectives should be emphasized.
Step IV. Discussion ( group task )
Faced with such situation, what if you were King Lear ?
What do you think should be the proper reaction to flattery or truth ?
