Students work in groups to find out those words and phrases the teacher used to express space and location. Most of the expressions in the passage, which can be find in Module Book 1 Unit 3 Travel journal Period 1 Reading:?Journey down the Mekong(2), are familiar to the students.

Last summer vacation I together with my family members drove to the Shennongjia Area to climb the mountain called “Shennong Peak”, which is recognized as “The Roof of Central China”.

To reach the top, we had to climb up the Qinyun Ladder, which is made up of 2,999 stairs. We set off in the late morning. My daughter ran in front of us as usual. She is always energetic and I knew I didn’t need to encourage her. To climb the mountain was hard work but as we looked around us, we were surprised by the view. The sky was clear and clean and we seemed to be able to see for miles.
