Today we’ll design a birthday party for him/her. Then what can we do during the party?

4. Teaching procedures:

Step 1：Pre-listening:

Part 1: Guess new words

Part 2: Learn the phrases with the pictures.

play the piano, dance to disco, perform ballet, sing songs,

draw pictures, take photos, play the guitar, make a birthday card,

play games, perform magic tricks, perform Kungfu.

Activity 1: Read and follow

Activity 2: Stick the phrases on the blackboard. Show the pictures of the new phrases，Ss speak out the phrase rightly, then stick it on the right place. Read them out.

Activity 3: You act, I guess. Some volunteers act, others guess and write the phrases on the board. Some students check it.

Activity 4: Pair work(ppt)

A: Can you…? B: Yes, I can.

A: Can you…? B: No, I can’t.

A: What (else) can you do?

B：I can…, but I can’t…

Part 3: Practice: Can you…or…? I can…

Step2：While-listening:

Part1: Listen and match:

As we know, Kangkang will have a birthday party. His friends, Jane and Maria, are talking about this. What can they do at the party? Let’s listen to 1a and match. (ppt P63 1b)

Step 3：Post-listening:

Part 1: Imitate and retell

Follow the video to imitate and try to retell it like this.

Maria can…and…. Jane can’t…, but she can…. She also can…

Part 2: Look at the program list

Except Maria and Jane, other friends also prepared some performances. Let’s look at the program list together. (p72 2 ppt)
