1.Give students a clear clue about the usage of

Can / can’t + V原 .

Use a rhyme to remember the usage of Can / can’t + V原 and express the degree of doing activities.

学习方法:

1. Co-operation is an important way to learn this lesson in pairs and groups.

Learn to conclude the usage of “ can/can’t” by students themselves.

教学辅助:

Multi-media and some stickup cards.

教学程序:

Step One: Organization

Show the rules of the Competition between Girls and Boys.

Listen to a song about Happy Birthday.

(设计意图: 本环节的目的是告诉学生这堂课会进行男女生回答的竞赛,同时引用切合主题的英语生日歌,这些都是用来调动学生的学习积极性。)

Step Two:Revision

Lead Students to review the activities of their abilities by wishing someone “Happy Birthday” on that day by asking the date on duty report orally.

Show students eight pictures about their daily activities. Use the sentence patterns “ What can you do? / Can you do …? to ask and answer one by one.”

(设计意图: 本环节的目的复习学生以前学会的动词短语,通过当天学生真实的生日情景,大家说出自己想做的事情来给予她庆祝,这为教学新知识能/会做的事情做了很好的铺垫。)

Step Three : Presentation

1.Ask students to do some guessing games through the pictures to say :

---Can he / she do A or B?

---He/She can do A. / He/She can do B.

2.Ask students to do chain exercises, paying attention to practicing using the Or Questions and try to choose one to answer.

3.Then show another three cartoon pictures to ask students to look and say “What can he/she do ?” and “How can she or he do it?” Here, the teacher can teach them the main points “the degree of doing activities, like can do it very well, can do it just a little or can’t do it at all.” Meanwhile ,use the cartoon smiling face, common face and sad face to express their abilities of relevant activities.
