Step 1. Warming up

1.Greeting

2.Say the sentences.

It is a big city.

Is it a big city?

Was it a big city then?

[设计意图]:通过读已学句子,引出新句型Was it a big city then?既能巩固旧知,又能引导学生自主认读新句型。

Step 2. Leading in

We are going to the wax museum. who is he? He is Yaoming. Is he tall? Yes, he is. Was he tall then? Yes, he was.

教师用学生举例,用“Is he…?Yes, he is.﹨No, he isn’t. Was he…? Yes, he was.﹨ No, he wasn’t.

出示TV,观看第一部分课文视频,并巩固句型。“Oh, he’s strong. Was he strong then? Yes, he was.”

[设计意图]:让学生在真实的语境中开口介绍,引导学生积极地投入到课堂学习中,并在无形之中渗透教学,为后面的教学做不可或缺的铺垫。

Step 3. Text learning

开车往前走,我们来到了城市展览馆。让我们进去看看都有哪些城市。

Where is it? It’s Beijing.引导学生说出句型:“Beijing is a big city. It’s very beautiful and famous.”

T出示乡村图片,并用句型“Was it a big city then?”提问,引导学生用“No, it wasn’t”回答,并用age, bridge引出village.帮助学生能说会读。

接下来我们要去参观深圳,Shengzheng is a very big city.

T: Who is that little girl?

S: She is Lingling.

T: Lingling’s grandpa lives in Shengzheng. Let’see.

1: Watch and understand.

2. Listen and point.

3. Read and answer.

a: Where is grandpa?

b: Is shengzheng a big city now?
