Step 1:warming up and lead-in
Play a song Lemon tree.
Greeting as usual,let Ss read the article in reading part together.
Ask a question why does Rebecca say I can’t imagine a world without trees?
Group work talk about why trees are important?
Let some group show their work.
There are many different kinds of trees,show some pictures of trees and ask Ss do you know these trees? Show the English names of these trees and read them.
Step2: presentation
When we talk about pine trees,how much do you know about them?
Let some students answer the questions.
Show three pictures(pine trees in winter,pine cone,squirrel)
Play the record and let ss find linking words,explain the linking words briefly.write these words on the blackboard.
Show an short article facts about trees,let ss fill in the blanks with linking words.
Listen again and finish the notes on page .
Let ss check the answers one by one.pay attention to the blanks 1,000 and Chinese.
Listen one more time and finish a form.(distribution,features and uses)
Take notes and write down some key words.check their answers.
Step3:practice and consolidation
Pair work,make a conversation about pine trees.

Let some pairs read their conversations in front of the class.
