Step1 Lead in

Listen to a song. Ask students to pay special attention to two sentences：

Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping? Brother John .Brother John. Morning bells are ringing. Morning bells are ringing .Ding ding dong.Ding ding dong

T: What’s the tense of the two sentences? When can we use it? Are there any key words?(总结现在进行时意义，提示词)

Step2 Talk time and grammar learning..

Create several situations by showing pictures, making dialogues and playing games to summarize the structures of the present continuous tense.(总结不同句型的句式)

Show three pictures and two sounds. Lead students to ask and answer. Then try to summarize the structures of wh-questions and affirmative sentences.

Show several pictures and ask students to describe. Then try to summarize the structure of negative sentence.

Cover parts of pictures and lead students to guess the actions by asking “Is it/he/she…?” “Are they …?” and answering “Yes,…is/are.” “No,…is/are not”. Then try to summarize the structures of general questions and their answers.

Step3 Words changing game（总结动词变现在分词规则）

Divide students into four big groups. Stick words “do, have, die, put” on four blackboards. Ask group 1students to change “do” into –ing form and summarize the rule. And group 2 for word “have”, group3 for word “die”, group4 for word “put”.

Show 11 other words , ask students to stand up if the changing rule belongs to their group .
