Ask Ss to guess the words according to the picture and description

Display the map and invite Ss to come out and point to countries and cities on the map. To warm-up and elicit exhibition, Asia, Tokyo, Bangkok, Japan, Thailand While-task Ask Ss to identify the cities and countries with the help of pictures.

Ask Ss to practise a dialogue:

S1: Which city is the capital of…?

S2: …is the capital of … To teach new word: capital and practise the use of capital. Ask Ss to look at the compass and tell the directions To guide Ss to learn to tell the directions Ask Qs:

Where is Tokyo?

Where is Shanghai? Play the recording of Listen and say

Ask Qs:

Which city is the capital of Japan?

Where is it?

Ask Ss to read after the recording and role-play the dialogue To practise Ss’ listening ability and guide them to find detailed facts through listening Let Ss work in pairs and practise the dialogues about the locations of the cities

S1: Where is it?
