Teaching Procedure:

Teaching Stag Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities Purposes Lead-in Introduce the instruments and different kinds of music and lead in the topic “Rock music” Enjoy the introduction and get more interested. To get the students warmed up. Pre-reading Introduce some new words while listening to the music. learn the meaning of some new words while enjoying the music To let students learn the new words and phrases. While-reading

Have students skim through the passage to give the main idea of the passage and match the time with the events. Skim and match. To let students have a general idea of the whole passage Have students read paragraph by paragraph for detailed information and complete different tasks.

1. Para. 1 and Para. 2 (Questions & retell)

2. Para 3 (T/F )

4. Para. 4 (Questions) Read the passage for detailed information about each paragraph and finish different tasks. To let students focus on some details for further understanding of each paragraph and consolidate how rock music developed by retelling.

Have ss listen to the tape and learn more about the beatles. Learn more about the band. To have students consolidate how they developed and be popular. Post-reading 1. Help students to understand why rock music and the Beatles have achieved such success .

2.Have students express their opinions on how to describe a band. Think over to get deeper ideas of the passage and discuss to describe the band.

To guide students to get deeper ideas and enhance the consciousness of how to be successrul. Assignment Written work : Make a poster to introduce the beatles.

Oral work: Search a music band on the internet and make a PPT to introduce them to your classmates.

教学反思:

作为本节课的教学反思,我想谈谈在教学过程中比较满意的地方,以及自己的不足之处。

优点一:引入生动、贴近学生生活,在情境中引入单词的教授。

通过课堂铃声引入到音乐的话题,较贴近学生的生活,容易引起学生的兴趣。再由介绍乐器引入到不同种类的音乐,通过播放不同类型的音乐,充分调动学生的积极性,使其浸入课堂中。同时,让学生在情境中学习了新单词“old-fashioned;combine;influence”等。透过多媒体课件,增大课堂容量,为教学带给超多生动、形象的素材。这样不仅仅有效地扩大了学生视野和与语言操练的面,而且提高了学生的理解和存储效率,从而增强了教学效果。

优点二:活用教材,创造性地理解、使用教材,又用心拓展教材。

抓住学生的好奇心理,活化我们的英语教材,透过扩展教材资料,充分激发他们勤于思考,使教学向纵深发展。教材内容是rock music的发展和流行,和简略的the beatles的发展。在rock music的处理中,学生能够根据回答问题得出的历史发展图表,很流利地将rock music的发展复述一遍,甚至可以根据以前所学得的内容,用自己的语言重新构造。另外,我拓展了the beatles的内容来深化课堂,最后导出“good things are never old-fashioned”的道理来激励学生做一个成功的人。虽然教学中我发现对教材的扩展超出了学生解决问题的潜力范围,但却因此激起了他们思维的火花,引发他们在课外、在今后的学习中努力寻求解决的办法,培养了他们思维的流畅性和独创性。

不足之处:

1.学生参与不平和

由于对学生的不了解,对教材的拓展有些超出了学生解决的潜力范围,一些学困生习惯于当观众,只听不说,或者说根本听不懂,教师容易忽略了他们。

2.教师的课堂用语还需进一步完善,教师应该进一步提高自身素质,灵活处理课堂变化。

3.由于对课堂时间的把控不足,对最后的部分处理不够好,可以再巩固提升一下。

总之,一节课结束后总结成功之处,积极整改不足之处,不断完善教师自我的知识能力和水平,也不断完善高效的英语课堂。我记下成功之举,总结可取之处,也记下自我的失误与疏漏,作深刻的剖析,我记下课堂中师生智慧灵感的不期而遇,独创的见解值得回味,能帮我拓宽教学思路。我最想记的就是再教设计,怎样在下一次教学中扬长避短,精益求精。我有阅读课教学的反思,有词汇教学方法的反思,有任务设计的注意事项,有关于课堂控制的,有关于信息技术的,有关于教材的使用的,一有所得,及时记下,不断反思,不断困惑,不断超越,不断完善自我的课堂,提高教学质量。
