Talk about some ways to keep healthy.

Be able to tell what good and bad habits are. Be sure to form some good living habits and keep healthy.

3. The key points and difficult points(重点和难点)

3.1 Key points(重点):

(1) Master the kinds of illnesses and analyse the reasons why people fall ill.

(2) Master how to use some modals to give advice.

(3) Know some methods on how to keep healthy.

3.2 Difficult points(难点):

(1) Use some modals to give advice.

(2) Write some ways of keeping healthy.

4. Teaching aids (教具)

Computer multimedia, money, some apples, some stickers,a doctor’s white coat and a blue cap, etc.

Teaching procedures(教学步骤)

Step1: Warm up(3m)

Greeting: Hello,everybody,are you happy today ? Students answer:Yes.T:Me,too.

Show 100 yuan to the Ss,say:Look,what’s this? Do you like it? Is money important to us?Is money the most important to us?Then what is the most important in our lives? Now let’s look and think. ...Three-Two-One,ready? Go! Now can you tell me what is the most important in our lives? Ss:Health! T:Quite right! Without health,we will have nothing,right?Today let’s talk about something about health,OK?

(This design is to build a relaxing atmosphere,arouse students’ interests in talking about today’s topic---health, make them prepare for the study in this lesson.)

Step2: Revision.

Have a brainstorm:Look at these pictures,ask: Are they healthy?What’s wrong with him/her ? Call out several Ss to answer them one by one as quickly as possible,such as:"He/She has a fever/ sore eyes//a backache/They have the flu."

Play a guessing game:Play the sounds which the patients make,say:Listen to the sounds and guess “What’s wrong/the matter with him/her ?” If you are right,I’ll give you two marks. Ask four students to answer.

Draw lots:Ask two students to the front to draw lots,then do an action. T:What’s the matter with you?Then ask the other students: What’s the matter with him/her?

Look at the names of the illnesses,can you remember? Ask Ss to read them aloud group by group then read together.

(The purpose of this step is to review some vocabulary illnesses, consolidate the target language, provide oral practise by using the target language. )

Step3: Pair work

Look at some pictures about a toothache and several advice,ask and answer between the teacher and the students,ask three of them to answer.
