Step 1 Warming up

Group work: have a brain storm about different festivals and then do non-stop talking in 30 seconds.

Step 2 Revision

Show pictures and short videos to present four Chinese festivals.

Ask question 1: what are the Chinese festivals?

The Spring Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Double Ninth Festival and the Dragon Bout Festival.

Question 2: what do people do at this festival?

For each of the four festivals, show pictures about the things people often do. Help the students review the activities and make full sentences to describe each festival.

Step 3 Culture time

T: What other festivals do you know?

Talk about Christmas and the activities. After that, help the students pay attention to some Western festivals.
