★be supposed to意为“应该”,相当于should,表示建议、义务或责任等。be supposed to的时态、人称和数的变化在be动词上体现,to为动词不定式符号,后面接动词原形。

例:

You are supposed to write to her as soon as possible.你应该尽快给她写信。
