本课是Unit 8 Save Our World（Lesson46：Protect Our Environment）；本课着重学习it的用法和should、shouldn’t的用法。课文通过来自加拿大的Katie介绍加拿大Edmonton的和环境状况，进而谈到了浪费纸、节约用水、和循环使用等，还谈到了汽车、工厂对环境的污染最大，并且提出了一些减少污染的合理化的建议，最后画龙点睛地进行了总结，如果我们每个人在生活中做一些小的改变，将会对我们的环境产生很大的影响，保护环境并不太难，我们只需要能力。通过对本课的学习，借鉴一些本课的好词好句，运用所学的词汇、句型，仿写一篇关于如何保护环境的短文。
