Step 2: Pre-reading
1) Ppt shows a picture about the earth that is around by hands. The picture means we should protect and save the earth.
Ppt shows six pictures about different kinds of pollution and waste in our life.
Picture 1: The earth is crying. Let students talk about and answer why the earth is crying.
Picture 2: garbage pollution
Picture 3:air pollution
Picture 4: water pollution
Picture 5: water waste
Picture 6: paper waste
T: From above all, we know there are a lot of pollution and waste in the environment around us. Then, what should we do?
Protect our environment.
Step3: While-reading
Task 1: Read quickly and choose the main idea of each paragraph
Task 2: Read carefully and retell the passage by filling in the blanks.
Step 4: After-reading
Task 3: According to the lesson 46, discuss the ways to reduce the waste and pollution
Four students one group.After discussion, one of the students should write down the ways they discussed. And one of the students present their results to the class.

The answers about reducing the waste and pollution will be write down on the blackboard by the teacher.
