Watch a video.

Step 2 Pre-learning

Change the words into v-ing form

Summarize the rules of present participle.

Rules of present participle: 1.直接加-ing

2.去e 加-ing

3.双写辅音字母加-ing

4.特殊变化

Put more different kinds of verbs into the correct column.

Step 3 While-learning

Look at the picture on the screen and say what they are doing

Encourage the students to summarize the sentence structures.

Sentence structures: Sb. + be (am, is, are) + doing

Sb. + be (am, is, are) + not + doing

Play a guessing game to consolidate what they learned just now.

Step 3 Post-learning

Do some exercise (Handouts)

Writing:

choose one of your favorite pictures of families and write about what the people are doing at the moment.

Encourage the students to report their writings in front of the class.

Step 5 Extension

Enjoy a song called You Raise Me Up and give a good education to the students.
