T:So what about May Day holiday?

Step 2 Lead-in

T:Were you happy on May Day holiday?

S:……

T: I were very happy on May Day holiday.Can you guess what did I do? I had a holiday journey.Do you know holiday journey?

Well,today we will learn a new module,Module 10 A holiday journey Unit 1 What did you do?(write the title on the blackboard)

I had a holiday journey on May Day holiday. I went to the Huangshan Mountain.It’s very excited.Do you know Why?

Because I saw two Americans there.Do you know where did they come from?

--They came from California.Where is California?

--It’s in the USA.

Step 3 Pre- Listening

1.show the pictures and Learn the new words about places(PPT): California, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica, Disneyland

2. Look at the map carefully in Activity 1.

3. Ask the students to find the places on the map.

4. Play the recorder and ask the students to listen to the recorder carefully.

5. Listen and number the places as you hear them.

6. Check the answers with a partner.

7. Check the answers with the whole class .

Step 4 while- Listening

1. Ask the students to read the conversation silently.

2. Play the recorder and ask the students to listen and read the conversation after the tape.

3. Read the conversation together.

4. Act it out.(role-play)

5. Ask the students to remember the past tense verbs in the conversation.
