Step 1. Warming-up

Show pictures and some background information of the school-leavers’ party.

Ask students to brainstorm what they can do at a party. (dance, play games, enjoy beautiful songs, talk with friends, eat some delicious food)

Ask students to guess words with the help of the pictures and help them do find the differences between western food and Chinese traditional dishes.

Learn new words about tools of eating.

Step 2. Pre-listening

Ask students to find what preparations we should make .

Show students an invitation and its content.

Step 3. While-listening

Listen to activity 1 and complete the invitation.

Listen to activity 2 and answer the question: What preparations should they make for the party?

Listen to Activity 2 to complete the notes with the sentence pattern: ….is / are made with…

Step 4. Post- listening

Read quickly to choose T or F.

Watch the video and finish the table.

Retell the story with the words in the box.

Step 5. Group work

Work in groups to make a party plan to review the usage of passive voice.
