Teaching procedure:

Step 1 Revision and leading-in

1.Show some pictures of pollution to review the last topic and then lead them to discuss the question:

Do you know these kinds of pollution and how they affect our environment?

Let the students think about the question:What should we do to improve our environment? And then let them write down their opinions on a piece of paper, and then put them into the “Beautiful mind” box.

Ask some students to choose the paper in the box and read the sentences on the paper loudly to share the opinions with the whole class.Lead to the new lesson.

Step 2 Presentation

List the key words and phrases in 1a and teach them.

(1)work for an organization 为一个机构工作

(2)help spread the message 帮助宣传信息

(3)the three R’s ---reduce, reuse and recycle

3R——减少,重复使用以及回收利用

reduce the waste 减少废弃物
