Before class, let Ss listen to this song: In the living room

Step 1: Greeting

Step 2: Warming up

“Where am I?”

Let Ss watch a short VCR, and answer the question.

Step 3: Review

Review some phrase that the Ss have leart.

The teacher says: No.1 stand up. (she is standing now.)

No. 2 stand up. (They are standing up.)

According to the pictures, the teacher says: What is Jenny/Danny doing?

Step 4: New concept

Let Ss listen, and answer questions.

What are Lynn and Bob doing?

What is Li Ming doing?

What are Mr. and Mrs. Smith doing?

What are Jenny and Danny doing?

2. Let Ss listen again, and answer questions.

① Where is Jenny?

② Who is sitting beside Jenny?

③ Where are Lynn and Bob?

④ Where is Li Ming?

Let Ss read the text together.

Step 5. Practise

Guessing

Let Ss guess what the pictures are about in their living room, and then let Ss describe the pictures.

Let Ss tell their partners: what are they doing in the living room?
