Step 1: Warming up:

1. Daily greetings and introduce the teacher’s name “Helen” with “there be” sentence pattern.

2. Play a game: find the differences.

Step 2: Presentation:

1. Show a flying bird and follow the bird to see a beautiful nature park.

T: It’s a beautiful nature park. But what’s in it? Let’s go and see.

2. Teach “mountain” with the picture and say “There is a mountain in the nature park.”

3. Show two pictures of famous mountains in China: the Yellow Mountain and Mountain Tai.

4. Teach “hill” with the picture and ask “Is there a tree on the hill?” to let students answer “Yes, there is.”.

5. Teach “forest’ and “river” in the same way and let students see the pictures of Changjiang River and the Yellow River.

6. Show a picture of a lake and ask “Is there a fish in the river?” and let students answer “Yes, there is.” and “No, there isn’t.”.

7. Show two pictures of the West Lake and Tianjing Lake.

Step 3: Practice:

1. Show the words with balloons quickly and let students read aloud.

2. A big wheel: Students have to recognize or spell the incomplete words with the wheel.

3. Pair work: Ask and answer the things in the park with pictures.
