Step 1 . Lead- in

1. Greetings.

-- How are you ?

-- I’m fine ,thank you . and you?

-- I’m fine .

2. Watch the short video: Tom and Jerry and listen to the introduction of Jerry.

Jerry’s Introduction

Hi! Everyone. I’m Jerry, a clever and lovely mouse. It is my food cheese. I like it very much. He is my neighbour Tom. He is not friendly enough. But we are good friends now. And she is my girlfriend. Is she pretty?They are all my favourite. Thank you!

3. Finish the form.

( ) I’m Jerry.

( ) It ______ my food cheese.

( ) He _____ my neighbour. They _____ my favourite.

We _____ good friends now.

( ) she _____my girlfriend.

( short form : It is = It’s ; He is = He’s ; She is = She’s; We are = We’re; They are = They’re; I an = I’m ; You are = You’re)

Step 2. Drilling

Ask the students to introduce his / her new classmates using the model.

I’m ... It’s .... He is ..... She is ..... We’re..... They’re.....

Use these phrases, the more the better.

Step 3. Presentation and practice

Maybe it’s easy to finish this kind of task. But now Sandy has some trouble with her introduction. Can you help her to finish the blanks using the verbs “ am ,is ,are ”?
