Teaching steps

Step1 Review

Review the new words that we learnt in the last class, ask the students to read them to master the pronunciations and the meanings. (teacher can offer some help if they can’t read them correctly.)

Show the Objectives of this period to let the students know the aims.

Step 2 Lead in

Ask the students to talk about the giant pandas that we learnt in the last class, including the name , the looks and also the problems, the actions that we can help the panda.

Lead in Millie and Daniel’s best animals, talk about the tiger and wolf.

Teacher offer some instructions about tigers and wolves to help the students to know about their looks and qualities , then it will help the students when they listen to the records.

Step3 Presentation

To get more information about the tigers and wolves , listen to the record and pay attention to the looks,abilities and qualities,food, also the danger they face.

After once, try to check how much information they got,ask some students to say out their answers and check together.

Play the record again and check the answer again on PPT.

When checking , also give the explanations :

Step4 Practice

1.Ask the students to help Millie complete the letter that she wrote to people. Play the record again to offer the help to students.

2. Check the answers together.

Step5 Homework

Ask the students to remember the letter that Millie wrote .

Write something about the giant pandas using the letter Millie wrote as a model.
